The Gwen Reid shield was won on Saturday by Craig Reid when with the last cast of the day he caught a 6lb. 8oz. fish to grab the trophy. William Wasp (Holder) had his worst performace of the year in the final and now sets his sights on claming the club championship. Martin Conroy looked to be in contention right up until the final minute, but lost fish ruined any chance Bobo had of lifting the trophy

Falkirk tight lines Beecraigs loch report. 27/05/06

 

It was hard going on the Loch in windy conditions.  Martin Conroy would have secured top bag but lost the biggest fish of the day when his bag on the side of the boat snapped so no record of weight could be recorded. Top bag man was Colin Burke with six fish for 11lb 7oz. A total of 26 fish were caught with the Cats whisker booby nymph doing most of the damage for members. Other productive patterns on the day were the Viva, Greenwell’s Spider, Hares ear and Pheasant tail nymphs.
