Cromlix March 11 2006
The doubles competion proved hard going for some at Cromlix with the defending champions just making it through to the next round thanks to captain Craig Reid catching a 4ld 15oz. Rainbow as partner Keith Montgomery hit a blank in hard going conditions. Top bags went to club champion Martin Conroy and top bag man Colin Burke, Neilson Mepham also got his limit as he and partner William Chalmers progressed in to the semi finals. Club guest for the day Willie Leach had top weight at 10ld 13oz. Jimmy Barrie caught the first fish of the season a 4ld Rainbow. John Craig and William Leach both caught brown trout which were successfully returned to fight another day.
Top flies and lures on the day were Willie’s muncher apart from the inventor Willie Wasp himself, orange tadpoles fritz and original and various buzzers. A few of Bibio Bobs patterns worked on the day for a few of the members. It was a day for orange and lime green.
