The Johnston Slater trophy caused a few surprise results as the fishing was hard going for a few of the members including the cup holder. The favoured pattern on the day was the Booby nymph and small nymph patters including the buzzer patterns including Willies muncher. Some of the members drew bad pegs on the farmland side and this reflected on the results and the catch rate. Another club with top quality fly fishers were on the water and were doing the business on buzzers and nymphs on the road side of the water and were pulling out fish including doubles. Well done lads. A friendly and helpful bunch that was even prepared to advise and give advice on patterns they were using and were even giving some of there catching patterns to members.
