The club outing to Rosslynlee had fewer members than usual, due to holidays ect.

The five members who did attend had a mixed day.
Three got there limit one got two fish and one got no fish.

Every time we go to Rosslynlee it is always blowing a gale, so most of fishermen were fishing with the wind.

Top of the league man Wullie Wasp (who just can’t stop catching fish) got his limit plus heaviest bag.

First to get there limit was odd Bod who didn’t catch one fish on a booby, but a hares ear now there is a major surprise.

The day was not so good for club champion Martin Conroy he only managed to get two fish.

So will have to do better in the remaining outings to remain champion.

Jimmy the Bubble Barrie got his limit of four fish, and has been doing well the last couple of outings so we may see him shooting up the leader board.

As for me read ma post in the forum.

Flies that caught were damsel, hares ear, fritz, and oky doky.

I’ll be happy when jock gets back this is his job. 14 Fish.

The Johnston Slater trophy caused a few surprise results as the fishing was hard going for a few of the members including the cup holder. Members who progressed were Craig Reid who had the top weight on the day, William Chalmers, Keith Montgomery and John Jackson. Colin Burke had the biggest fish of the day at 4lb. The favoured pattern on the day was the Booby nymph and small nymph patters including the buzzer patterns including Willies muncher. Some of the members drew bad pegs on the farmland side and this reflected on the results and the catch rate. Another club with top quality fly fishers were on the water and were doing the business on buzzers and nymphs on the road side of the water and were pulling out fish including doubles. Well done lads. A friendly and helpful bunch that was even prepared to advise and give advice on patterns they were using and were even giving some of there catching patterns to members. With this kind of helpful support from other like minded fisherman. It just shows you what a friendly and helpful lot, fishermen are. Maybe the rocket who posted a message on the guestbook should take a leaf out of these guys book.
